學術研究
1、民族藥物層級庫的構建
課題組深入民族地區（鄂西、新疆、青海、西藏、廣西、貴州、云南）廣泛收集了1000余種中草藥和民族藥物，構建了中草藥和民族藥物樣本庫（含1000種藥材樣本）→藥材提取物庫（3000個提取物，一種藥材含石油醚、乙酸乙酯、甲醇三個提取物）→預組分化庫（正在建設）→民族藥物成分庫（1000個以上民族藥單體成分）。依據新藥研發的經典規律—Lipinski五規則，我們采用特殊的柱色譜前處理技術構建預組分化庫。
2、抗糖尿病藥理活性及機制研究
長期從事天然藥物抗糖尿病活性成分篩選與機制研究工作。利用最新發展的前沿技術（基因編輯CRISPR-Cas9、CETSA、靶蛋白垂釣）探索與藥物與靶蛋白間相互作；構建基于L6細胞IRAP-mOrange熒光轉染促GLUT4轉膜活性篩選方法，實現藥物抗糖尿病活性快速篩選；已建立多種飲食干預、基因表達干預的糖尿病動物、細胞模型，全面研究藥物作用效果；利用基因工程技術構建基因沉默/過表達載體調控信號分子表達，實現藥物作用機制研究。
3、基于中草藥和民族藥物庫的抗腫瘤活性化合物的發現
長期從事天然藥物抗多種腫瘤活性與機制研究；團隊已成熟構建體內外抗腫瘤活性物質篩選平臺，實現組分或單體化合物體抗腫瘤藥效系統評價；團隊將結合腫瘤發病的熱門靶點，探索天然藥物抗腫瘤活性的新機制；采用MTT和CKK-8方法篩選上述構建的中草藥和民族藥物提取物庫，在各種柱色譜分離純化技術的基礎上結合活性導向、質譜導向以及核磁共振氫譜導向技術，快速、高效、靶向地發現抗腫瘤活性成分。
3、中藥和民族藥化學成定性和定量分析及溯源研究
應用UPLC-Q-TOF/MS結合UNIFI數據庫快速自動表征中藥和民族藥的化學成分，并用UPLC-TQ-MS/MS方法對主要成分進行準確定量。最后通過結合生物活性篩選方法確定主要藥效成分；熟練應用UPLC-Q-TOF/MS與UPLC-TQ-MS/MS技術，利用非靶向代謝組學的方法區分中藥材和民族藥不同品種，明確同一中藥材不同品系在化學組成上的共性及區別；基于UPLC-MS與1HNMR等技術，結合非靶向代謝組學（PCA、PLS-DA、OPLS-DA）的方法對中藥和民族藥材進行產地溯源，以區分不同產地的中藥材和民族藥及評價其質量。
4、中藥和民族藥新劑型研究
進行中藥靶向遞藥系統，中藥制劑體內藥動學及成藥性評價；中藥新劑型與新制劑的研究開發。在從事中藥及民族藥復方制劑的開發工作中，其參與企業研發的兩個中藥六類新藥“川七鎮腦寧膠囊”和“赤母婦炎寧膠囊”已獲臨床批件。
5、中藥和民族藥新品種選育
主持選育蘄艾新品種蘄特1號，參與選育蘄艾新品種2個（蘄特2號和3號）。
